The debut pilot reading will be held at the Centennial Celebration for The Theatre School at DePaul in November.
It’s been a year since connecting with Fred and George across the pond at the Paris Summer Olympics and about a year in the making for this project!
Presenting this project at my alma mater is full circle in the best way, a homecoming of the heart for sure.
Looking back at everything that accelerated and delayed the premier of this Herculean development, I’m grateful for the soul searching, further research and retrospect that was allowed to craft this story into more than just a period piece romance. It’s a story about the right to live.
In a time of televised genocide, political unrest and social injustice, the impulse to argue its relevance is valid.
But it is exactly why telling this story is the most tasteful, tender and unapologetic way to join catharsis with entertainment. The things that remain constant, from our antiquity to our modernity is this battle of resurrecting darkness. And I believe it is an offering, a gift that will inform audiences and fans on how even through tragedy, the symbiosis of life and art remains resilient.
